Proving that you can find inspiration pretty much anywhere, I want to call out an unlikely source of inspiration.I'm talking about my former OB/GYN in California.Wait... what?!?Seriously. The first time I went to see Dr. Anahat Sandhu, MD, she took a full history and seemed to be paying close attention to everything I said. She asked detailed questions about my medical history, asking specifically about a rare condition I mentioned on intake. I told her about it, and told her that it had been cured with surgery and was no longer an issue. The next time I came in for an annual, she shared with me information about the condition, checked in, and asked questions about my experience. She had done a whole load of research, even though I didn't have an immediate need.(She demonstrated her excellence in many other ways too, just this is the one that landed with me so powerfully.)I have never had a physician demonstrate such keen intellectual curiosity.Looking back, it makes sense she should be interested in a condition related to her field. And I have never had a doctor do that before or since. As I now complete my internship in counseling, I keep her in mind. When a client tells me about a condition they are experiencing, I do my research. I learn, even if they don't think it's necessary. So here's me--in the requisite selfie--with my current brain-expanding material.Who has inspired you to be intellectually curious?

Hello Everyone, an update about my current internship! :)I've been working at RML Hospital, Psychology Department as a trainee intern for over a month now, and here's how my journey has been so far:🌷 Working in a clinical setting was initially overwhelming. The fear of making mistakes made me anxious, but with the help of amazing mentors, supportive doctors, and MPhil trainees, it has turned into a wonderful experience.🌷 As master's students, we get hands-on experience with case work-ups, which involve taking detailed case histories and conducting mental status examinations (MSE) of patients. Additionally, we have the opportunity to present the cases we've worked on to psychiatrists. This not only helps us gain confidence but also deepens our understanding through feedback and discussion.🌷 We also go on rounds in the inpatient ward with Psychiatrists and MPhil trainees, observing and learning from real-world cases and treatment approaches, including both theraputic and pharmacological treatment. These experiences have been incredibly valuable, providing a comprehensive view of clinical practice.🌷All in all, it has been a great learning experience, enriching both professionally and personally.🥀 (ps: eveyone who is a trainee intern at RML with me right now and reading this, thankyou for making this a memorable experience and going through the heat wave totally worth it 🫶) #psychology #internship

Therapy is not an easy process. The main idea of therapy is to aid the client, develop insight and help them attain desirable goals. Sometimes what people need is just a little bit of motivation but occasionally there are patients who have deep rooted problems. Such people have layers of problems and for an effective solution the therapist needs to go through each layer.#psychologyinternship #ecelecticpsychotherapy @icharsonline

Thoughts 💭I saw this letter a few days ago.My Question is:☀️What happens to other healthcare interns who might also need this internships. ☀️I mean there are many fundamental healthcare professionals that I personally feel are left out. I am going to give you a few examples1. Medical Laboratory Technologists.2. Nutrition and diatetics specialists.3. Radiology technologists4. Physiotherapists...etc ✨Why do we concentrate on Doctors, Dentists, Clinicians, Nurses and Pharmacists but leave out other healthcare workers? ✨What about other departments? 💥I support Medical Laboratory Technology interns be given internships with stipends. This will support the Diagnosis, management and Control of diseases in the country.Let's invest in our Professionals! What do you think? If you have a different opinion also don't hesitate to share.

🎓 Exciting Milestone: Completing my Field Internship and Submitting the Final Report! 📚I'm thrilled to share that my journey as an intern in the Field Internship in Local Public Policy has come to a rewarding conclusion! Over the past few months, I had the opportunity to delve into an intriguing research project titled "The Influence of Free Services at The Oulmes' Community Dental Medicine Centre on Citizen Engagement in Regular Check-ups and Oral Health Behaviors: A Qualitative Method Investigation." 🔍During this internship, I conducted in-depth qualitative research, aiming to shed light on the impact of cost-free services offered at the C.D.M.C on citizen engagement in regular dental check-ups and oral health behaviors. 🦷💭I'm elated to share some of the key findings from my research:🔑 Three Key Motivations for Visiting the C.D.M.C: free cost services, quality care, and convenient proximity. The order of these motivations varies depending on the socio-economic profiles of the individuals.💼 Shifting from Informal to Professional Dental Care: An essential effect of the C.D.M.C is its role in transforming the population's dental care-seeking behavior. The availability of this center encourages individuals to opt for professional dental care instead of seeking informal practitioners, such as the tooth snatcher or "dental mechanics."🌟 Positive Influence on Check-up Behaviors: None of the interviewees were accustomed to regular dental check-ups. Dental care was primarily sought reactively, driven by immediate dental problems and financial limitations associated with frequent check-ups. The cost-free services motivated people to have regular check-ups for preventive dental care.😁 Positive Impact on Oral Hygiene Behaviors: The C.D.M.C hasthe potential to positively influence patients' oral hygiene behaviors over time. As patients become more familiar with the center and receive continuous dental care, we observed a noticeable positive shift in their attitudes toward oral health practices.I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Zineb Benalla, my dedicated internship supervisor, for her constant guidance throughout this project. Additionally, I want to express my deep appreciation to the entire SCALES team for their efforts and assistance during my internship. #FieldInternship #DentalMedicine #PublicHealth #Research #InternshipCompletion #PublicPolicy #BehavioralScience
