| | Frequently Asked Questions Q. How much will my taxes be next year? A. Millage rates may vary slightly from year to year. The Borough sets its millage rate in December or January, and the School District sets its millage rate in May or June. Once the millage rates have been announced, tax bills are calculated by multiplying assessed value times millage. To figure out how much your taxes will be, multiply the assessed value of your property times the millage rate. As an example, for a house valued at $100,000 that is being taxed at 6.75 mils, multiply 100,000 times .00675 to figure out the tax amount (in this example, $675.00). If the house is being taxed at 22.502 mils, multiply 100,000 times .020584 to figure out the tax amount (in this case, $2,058.40). Q. I need a copy of my Borough and School tax receipts. A.
